Snoopy's Best Friend

Snoopy needs someone to go hiking with him. Woodstock do you wanna go?

I saw some crocheted Woodstock's hair in cones shape. I don't like that style. I want something soft like feather.

I found one youtube which did what I need.

Let's go hiking

After finishing a basic one, I immediately has an idea to make a hiking Snoopy. 

On top of the work for my first crocheted Snoopy, I need to figure out how to make legs that can stand. Because the pattern that the handcraft shop owner gave me did not have the pattern for legs, so I look for youtubes that teach 'legs', 'shoes for dolls'. I also need a backpack. Again I got my idea by looking at youtubes that teach how to make doll backpack. They are all beautiful, but I have tried made a simple one. 

I also need a hat, that looks a bit like baby's soother. Anyway it should not be a balance cone shape! 

With all these in mind, I started the challenge.

My first crochet snoopy

I knew basic crocheting but I have never crochet any dolls before. And I haven't crochet for very long time.

Thanks for the youtubers, I picked up the skill quickly.  Although those youtubes are in languages other than Chinese and English, I am able to understand and learnt how to crochet different parts of a doll's body.

I found a Korean blog that crochet a sitting snoopy. Since I have already crocheted the head and body, so I need to adjust the size of the rest of the part from the pattern shown in the blog to the size suitable for mine. 

Here below is my first crochet Snoopy and pattern I used.

How I get started: crocheting snoopy

I used to have my blog on Diving, hiking, but I haven't write blogs for very long time.

Last month I saw someone in a Facebook Snoopy Fans Group crocheted a snoopy and a woodstock.

They are so cute that it immediately arouse my interest.  I asked that Fans where I can find the pattern and she suggested me to look from PINTEREST.

I searched for "Crochet snoopy" in PINTEREST and from internet, there are just a few free patterns available, but they are not exactly what I am looking for. Some other patterns need buying.

Anyway, I want to kick off as soon as I can, because I am an Ordinary Sagittarius!

Luckily there is a little handicraft shop around the place I live that sells yarns, crocheted dolls. So I went there with the below picture and asked the shop owner what I should buy. 

She picked one white and one black yarn ball and a crochet hook for me. And she is so kind to share me one snoopy pattern free (I took photo from her mobile).

I crochet the head and body according to the pattern she gave me. But then when I tried to crochet the ears, I do not like the way this one looks, also I think it is easier for Snoopy to "sit" rather than "standing". So I search again from internet, and I found one Korean blogger whoes work is close to what I want.
